Corrugated Jacketed Gasket
Prosave Co Incorp manufactures Corrugated Jacketed Gaskets for heat exchanger and pressure vessel applications subject to cyclic temperature and pressure conditions. The corrugated metal shell enclosing the asbestos free filler increases gasket resistance and creates a labyrinth sealing effect at the inner edge, reducing the risk of bypass leakage. Also available with a corrugated metal insert in a 3 ply construction for enhanced resistance to cyclic thermal loading. Available in standard DIN and ASME dimensions and custom sizes up to 5000 mm.

The Corrugated Jacketed Gasket employs a corrugated metal outer shell to enclose an asbestos free soft filler, secured by a top washer. The corrugated profile increases the mechanical resistance of the jacket compared to a plain double jacketed construction, and the concentric corrugations along the inner edge function as a labyrinth seal — if minor leakage occurs at the bore, the corrugation pattern restricts further migration of the process medium. Where additional sealing assurance is required, an adhesive layer ribbon can be applied to further improve sealing capacity at the corrugated edge.
For applications subject to cyclic operating temperatures and repeated thermal expansion and contraction, Prosave Co Incorp also produces the corrugated jacketed gasket with an internal corrugated metal insert. This 3 ply construction combines the outer corrugated shell, the soft filler, and an inner corrugated metal insert into a single gasket element with superior resistance to the dimensional changes and bolt load relaxation associated with thermal cycling common in oil and gas process equipment.
